Altar Flowers for October 18, 2009. One altar

you desire prayer for any reason, our Prayer Partners will
receive you in the Chapel after you have communed.
Parking
- The
curbside parking spots in front of St. Matthew’s church
buildings are now reserved parking each Sunday
morning. In particular we make these spaces available
for those who have special need to park closer to the
builder – e.g. the handicapped, those who find walking
difficult, the parent handling infants and other small
children.
Pastor Wallace is holding a
Pre-baptism instruction on Saturday morning, October 31
at 11:00 am in the church library (located in the office
area) at the Vanderhorst Street entrance. This
session is for parents and, if possible, baptismal sponsor
who would like to have their child baptized in November or
December. Please call Debarah in the church office
(723-1611) prior to October 29 to register.
We are now taking orders for poinsettias for the decoration
of the church December 20th.
Please note that this year the deadline to order is
November 25th
which is earlier than previous years. Poinsettia Order Forms are
available in the Narthex on the shelf and the Church
Office. If you have questions, call Debarah in the office
at 723-1611.
A large group of XYZers (Older Adults) will leave today for
the annual
Adult Fall Retreat at Lutheridge and will return on Thursday.
XYZ
Rolling Bowlers will meet at Ashley Lanes
tomorrow, October 19th at 1:30 pm. Caller for October
is Jimmy Peele.
Taylor
Music Choir will perform the Durufle Requiem
at 3:00 pm on
October 25th at Grace Episcopal Church.
Admission is $15 for adults/$5 for students.
An
Oyster Roast / Silent Auction to benefit our Outreach
Center is to
be held on November 22nd. The planning committee is
looking for your help to procure useful, fun or interesting
items. Any help is appreciated in acquiring
donations. Call the center if you need a packet of
information to share with a business or to share a

Care Kits which will be assembled this Wednesday, October
21, 7:00PM. A box is available in the Education Hallway for

to the Prayer Wall on the first floor of the Education

COASTAL CONFERENCE REFORMATION WORSHIP – October 25, 6:30PM
. The
congregation of St. Matthew’s is invited to join with all
the Coastal Conference congregations at Advent Lutheran
Church, 3347 Rivers Avenue, N. Charleston, for a
Reformation worship service.
Shepherd Ministry: The purpose of St. Matthew’s
Shepherd Ministry is to create, maintain and sustain loving
and caring relationships within the life of our church
