Parking - The curbside parking spots in front of St. Matthew’s church buildings are now reserved parking each Sunday morning. In particular we make these spaces available for those who have special need to park closer to the builder – e.g. the handicapped, those who find walking difficult, the parent handling the infant and other small children. St. Matthew’s thanks the City of Charleston and the traffic division of the Charleston Police for helping us set these spaces aside.
October Council Servants: Each month a team of council members serves the congregation at worship and are available at special events. In October the Council servant team is Ernie Weatherholtz-leader, Gene Brown, Lisa DeHaven, and Kerry Koon.
The Church Council authorizes the receipt of a special offering to support relief efforts in Georgia. The unprecedented flooding has taken lives, ruined homes, destroyed businesses and schools, devastated communities, and left thousands of people in need. Money contributed will go to the Lutheran Services of Georgia and checks should be made out to this agency. Team Lutheran Disaster Response and Thrivent Financial for Lutherans are providing leadership for the relief efforts. An offering plate is in the back of the sanctuary to receive your gift. You may also send your contribution directly: Lutheran Services of Georgia, 1330 West Peachtree St, Ste 300, Atlanta. GA, 30339.
XYZ Rolling Bowlers: Tomorrow at 1:30 at Ashley Lanes Bowling Alley. Caller for October: Jimmy Peele.
