Habitat volunteers desperately needed! If you volunteered to help with the current Thrivent Builds with Habitat home on Johns Island, Please plan to work on Saturday, August 29. For Thrivent Financial to contribute 65% of funding, it is necessary that at least 75 Thrivent Members and Lutherans participate. Currently, we are well below that number. If you have questions, call Pastor Dick Campbell. For scheduling and directions: outreach@seaislandhabitat.org

The Outreach Center GED class has need for tutors for some of their adult students needing remedial help. The class meets on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 5:30 to 8:30 pm. Tutors are needed on either evening from 6:00-7:30 pm. Call Margaret at 579-0420 for more information.

Our Outreach Food Pantry struggles to keep up with demand in the summer as the supplies at our Low country Food Bank are low. Please consider picking up additional items while shopping specifically for our food pantry shelves. Donations can be brought either to the Outreach Center or placed in the Outreach drop box in the Education Building hallway.

School Supplies are needed for the Outreach Learning Center. When shopping for school supplies this year, please remember that our kids at the OLC are in need of them also. We need all the “basics” (pencils, rulers, markers, scissors, calculators, glue sticks, paper, etc.) as well as a few more items for projects: children’s dictionaries with pictures, pencil sharpeners for classrooms, hand sanitizer, comic books, radios and cd players. These can be dropped in the box in the Education hallway. Thanks for your continued support of your Center!

We Care for Our Troops Prayer Wall is located by the elevator on the lower level of the first floor in the Education Building. Please add names, addresses and pictures of anyone you know who is serving in the military. We welcome back Sondra Pfaehler who will lead this ministry with John Burbage. We’ll begin collecting items in September for the Care Kits.
The Mother’s Lounge, located in the Respite Care Library next to the Fellowship Room in the Education Building, has a rocking chair and privacy screen. A changing table is located at the back of the stage.
