XYZ Singles’ Lunch is next Sunday, August 9. All single ladies 55 & over are invited to join this monthly luncheon at the Holiday Inn Riverview next Sunday. Callers for August: Madelaine Hair and Barbara Robbins.

The Outreach Center GED class has need for tutors for some of their adult students needing remedial help. The class meets on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 5:30 to 8:30 pm. Tutors are needed on either evening from 6:00-7:30 pm. Call Margaret for more information.


We Care for Our Troops Prayer Wall is located by the elevator on the lower level of the first floor in the Education Building. Please add names, addresses and pictures of anyone you know who is serving in the military. We welcome back Sondra Pfaehlers who will lead this ministry with John Burbage. We’ll begin collecting items in September for the Care Kits.
The Mother’s Lounge has a new location and is available to use anytime. The Respite Care Library next to the Fellowship Room in the Education Building has a rocking chair and privacy screen on Sunday mornings. A changing table is located at the back of the stage.

Are you interested? Wooden desk chairs are available to purchase for $15 each for the next week. There is one chair on display in the Education hallway with additional purchase information. Additional chairs are stored in several places in the building. Questions? See Robert Holling

Confirmation Luncheon and Informational Meeting - August 23, 12:30-2:00PM. All youth in Grades 7-8 and parents/families as well as any adults interested in serving on the Confirmation Ministry Team are invited to meet in the Auditorium with food, fellowship and lots of information about this coming year. Pastor Wallace will lead the orientation. Childcare will be provided for siblings following dinner. Please make your luncheon reservations on the Record of Attendance on August 9 or 16.

Book of Faith Initiative: In 2007 the ELCA churchwide
assembly voted to embrace an initiative called Book of
Faith. The bold vision for this five-year initiative is: That
the whole church become more fluent in the first
language of faith, the language of Scripture, in order
that we might live into our calling as a people renewed,
enlivened, empowered, and sent by the Word.
