If you desire prayer for any reason, please go to the Church Library after you have communed where a St. Matthew’s Prayer Partner will pray with you. Prayer Partners do not offer advice but pray with you according to your requests. All requests are confidential.

XYZ Card and Game Night with “Covered Dish Supper” is tomorrow evening beginning at 6:00 PM in the Auditorium. All adults 55 and over are invited to attend. Bring your favorite dish and join the group for fun, fellowship & good food. Hostesses: Joan Drews and Irene Bennett.

Worship service for next Sunday, May 30 is the Feast of the Holy Trinity and a very special day at St. Matthew's. Pastor Mike Shackelford will be the preacher and Matt Canniff-Kuhn will be honored on his last Sunday with us.  Franz Schubert’s beautiful setting of the Mass in G Major will be sung as part of the liturgy accompanied by organ and string quartet. The work is scored for choir and solo trio. Dr. Robert Gant will serve as guest organist.

Children of all ages are invited to a great program at 11:00 AM next Saturday, May 29, at St. Matthew’s. The program will introduce kids to the pipe organ and all the sounds it can make and all the styles of music is can play. The program will be in the form of a circus complete with jugglers and clowns. Call Doug Ludlum for details.

Reminder: The 2010 Afternoon Tea to benefit our Outreach Center begins this Friday, May 28th and is open daily through Sunday, June 6. You can support our outreach ministries by attending (bring your club or organization), volunteering, donating needed items and telling your friends, neighbors and colleagues. This event has become a popular tradition in Charleston for locals and visitors to Spoleto alike. Call the Center at 579-0420 for more details or to purchase “Tea Gift Cards.”

The Remington Concerts, Franke at Seaside, begin on Sunday, May 30 at 3:00 PM with the William Baker Festival Singers. This festival choir from Atlanta have been performing here in Charleston since 1989. They will present a varied program of choral literature. Admission is free. For more information on the series which runs through June 12, please call 856-4700.

Nursery Schedule for childcare: The location of the Nursery during renovations is in the Chapel on the first floor of the Education building, across the hall from the preschool room. Today – 9:30AM - Noon (Worship at 10AM) Sundays- 8:00AM – 12:30 PM

Lutheridge Campers We need the names/dates of anyone from St. Matthew's going to Lutheridge this summer. We want to pray for you as well as help coordinate transportation. Registration for Vacation Bible School and Summer Faith Formation.
The summer fun begins with the Baobab Blast Vacation Bible School All Church Opening Celebration on Sunday, June 13, 9:45AM. Activities for children (age 3 through entering 5th grade) continue Monday, June 14 – Thursday June 17, 9:00 AM – Noon. On Thursday evening there is an All Church VBS Closing Celebration with Supper, Program and Ice Cream 6:00 – 8:00. Be sure to get a free CD with Baobab VBS music and information about VBS 2010 Mission Project: Masama Girls School when you register! Youth and adults please sign up to help. Afternoon events are planned for youth helpers! Childcare will be provided for infants/toddlers of volunteers. RENEW
is our theme for Summer Sundays and begins Sunday, June 20, 9:45AM. We’ll spend all summer learning about the Parable of the Sower from Mark 4:1-9. Nursery will be available for infants and toddlers. There will be a Preschool group, Lower Elementary group (completed K– 2) and Upper Elementary group (completed 3-4). Be sure to get a free CD with RENEW music when you register! As with the weekday VBS, youth who have completed Grades 5-12 are needed as helpers. We also need 2 adults for each group each week. Please consider helping one of more Sundays this summer. Child Protection Trainings in May & June As a part of implementing St. Matthew’s Child Protection Policy, adult volunteers for Vacation Bible School, Faith Formation or Youth Ministry need to complete required paperwork and must also complete the Stewards of Children prevention training from Darkness to Light. Stewards of Children will be offered Monday, May 24, 6:00-9:00PM with dinner included. Another training will be offered Wednesday, June 9, Noon – 3:00 with lunch and 6:00 – 9:00PM with dinner. The training is also available online. For sign up and additional information, see Cindy Greenwood in the Education hallway following worship.

Farewell Reception for Matt Canniff-Kuhn –Sunday, May 30, 9:45AM.
The Education Ministry Board will host a reception in appreciation for Matt’s time in ministry at St. Matthew’s as Coordinator of Youth and Young Adults. Please join us next Sunday in the Auditorium.
