XYZ Single’s Lunch Today: All single adults 55 and over are invited to join this monthly luncheon at the Holiday Inn Riverview Restaurant. Callers for March are Kitty Brown and Mary Ivester.

Youth event today for middle and high school youth! St. Matthew's youth are invited to a joint youth event at First Scots Presbyterian Church, 53 Meeting St, 5-7 pm. Drop-off and pick-up at First Scots. The night will include dinner, group games, and worship. There is no cost to attend. All youth welcome!

The partnership between Thrivent for Lutherans, the Lutheran Congregations in the Low Country and Habitat for Humanity have set out to build another home for a family in need of adequate housing. Volunteers are needed for each Saturday in March and April. Please contact Pastor Dick Campbell to sign up and to receive contact information.


Ladies of St. Matthew’s, a special event has been planned for you. Please join us for an important dialogue, “A Significant Moment in my Life,” as part of the discernment process. We will meet in the church fellowship hall on Thursday, March 25, from 7-8:30 P.M. Be sure to come

Furman University Chamber Choir: Next Sunday, March 21, is the 325th birthday of the great Lutheran composer Johann Sebastian Bach. In honor of that occasion, St. Matthew’s will host the 25 voice Chamber Choir from Furman University in Greenville, SC. The choir will sing at both services on that day under the direction of Dr. William Thomas. Dr. Charles Thompkins, professor of organ and nationally know concert artist, will accompany the choir and play the liturgy and hymns. Prelude music will begin at 8:15 and 10:45 am.

6th Annual Golf Tournament to Benefit Respite Care Ministries will be held Monday, March 22 at The Club at Seabrook Island. Brochures and more information is available by calling Laura Stefanelli at 723-1611 Ext. 15 or respitecare@comcast.net

The Annual Easter Egg Hunt at Franke will be held on Saturday, March 27 at 2:00 pm. Come and enjoy refreshments and a visit from the Easter Bunny herself!


Thanks & Celebrate!  On Sunday, March 28, at 9:45AM in the Auditorium the Church Council will host a reception to honor Margaret Peck and Al Clement and to remember Joe Reed.   As a part of celebrating, please take a few moments to write a personal note to Margaret, Al and Joe’s family to express your appreciation for the many years of service. Please place your words of love in the baskets provided at the reception on March 28. Any questions you have about the reception should be addressed to Suzy Stephens at 723-1611 Ext. 21.

The Afternoon Tea at St. Matthew’s Boutique opens May 28, but it is not too soon to plan your donations. Whether handmade, purchased, or selected from your treasures, your gifts will help The Boutique maintains its reputation (during its limited run) as the finest shop on King Street! The South Carolina Women of ELCA will hold its Trident Conference spring meeting at All Saint’s Lutheran Church, Mt. Pleasant, on Saturday, March 27, 2010. Registration will begin at 10:30 and the conference will be from 11:00 until 1:00. Brunch will be served at 11. All Lutheran women are encouraged and invited to attend. A nursery will be available. Men’s Church League Softball is about to begin. Practices will be Tuesday nights at 8:00 on the field behind Ashley River Baptist Church on Savannah Highway. Games will begin the week after Easter and occur at 8:00 or 9:00 pm, generally once or twice a week, Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. You need to be at least 16 by July 31st. Please contact Michael Black if you would like to play.



We will need extra help Easter Sunday morning to carry all
the banners of the church year in procession.  There are
eleven banners to process and men and women are needed
to help carry them at the beginning of each service.  Please

    The ELCA World Hunger and Disaster Appeal is the emphasis for Lenten devotions at home. The money from the coin boxes will be sent to the ELCA Disaster Appeal for Haiti Earthquake Relief. Calendars and boxes are available in the Education Hallway. Please return your Lenten offering box on Easter morning.
