Friends in Christ: There are staffing updates we want to report.

(1) Joe Reed has applied for disability. We will carry his salary and benefits until disability benefits begin.

(2) After looking into custodial needs at St. Matthew’s, we have determined that having two full time custodians would optimize service and extend the hours of custodial coverage. Beginning February 1 we have eliminated two part-time positions and created one additional full time position. Both part-time employees, Al and Leoma, were given the opportunity to apply for full time positions. Al declined and Leoma accepted. Leoma now serves the Monday – Friday custodial position. A new hire, Exavier, now serves the Wednesday – Sunday position. Please welcome both when you have the opportunity. We thank Al Clement for his years of service at St. Matthew’s.

(3) In building the ministry plan for 2010 based upon expected resources and the anticipation we will call an associate pastor in the midyear, the student minister position has been reduced to part-time and will be discontinued after May. We thank Matt for his continued service through May.

(4) The search process has begun to identify a new person to assume the leadership of the Outreach Learning Center.

This information will also be printed in the March
Messenger. If you have questions you may address them (phone, email, or note) to the church council and/or Pastor Wallace. Please sign all notes so we can report back to you. Together in Christ, Pastor Wallace and Ross Campbell (Council President)

This Epistle is rich with Old Testament references and draws together God’s Mission expressed through Abraham, the Law and the Prophets with God’s Mission manifested in the person of Jesus Christ and then handed to the Church. This is a timely study as begin our journey of discernment to arrive at our best understanding of God’s promised and preferred future for St. Matthew’s.

The Sky is Falling!?! Leaders Lost in Transition facilitated by Laura and Chris Altman Room 302 – Outreach Learning Center

The only real guarantee is that unpredictable change is here to stay. This book study is a proposal for leadership to take new risks for the reign of God.
